Heidi Ducato is
Mrs. Oklahoma
International 2010. Her platform is the
American Heart Association's Go Red for Women
movement and she will be promoting that around
the state and, around the world should she be
selected as
Mrs. International 2010.
She
is extremely passionate about her platform. It
has brought the obvious negatives of her aunt’s
heart attack(s) and her fight against heart
disease, but, it has also brought some truly
wonderful experiences too. Through her aunt, and
a mutual friend, she had the opportunity to meet
Tony, her husband, and his darling son,
Nicholas. Through a negative situation of her
aunt having a heart attack and with the decision
to stay and help with her recovery, Heidi was
able to experience a storybook romance with an
awesome man and create a blended family with her
stepson who is absolutely adorable and will
truly melt your heart!

Heidi’s first
priority is to create a happy and healthy home
for “her boys”. She has found a new outlook on
life to what a true partnership means in love
and marriage, as well as experience the joys and
challenges of being a blended family. It is,
yet, another door that God has opened for her to
experience, embrace, and encourage others within
the blended family community. Heidi is a
contributing writer for Stepmom magazine and
finds it important to increase awareness of
education and resources for the modern world of
blended families.
Heidi is also known
as the “Stylish
Stepmom”. She continues to build her brand,
as well as be the “go to” source for fashion,
tips, tricks, and trends. Heidi truly believes
in the “Shop Local” campaign, especially during
the ever-changing economy, and wants to focus
her efforts on promoting local
retailers/businesses within her community. Heidi
has, recently, partnered with 918moms.com and
Girlfriends 2.0 in creating a monthly networking
event for women. She believes it’s important to
empower and support women in business. You can
find her Stylish Stepmom segments on KOTV/News
on 6 in Tulsa. Her secret dream is to host her
own fashion/shopping TV show, as well as own a
boutique.

Heidi isn’t about
facts and stats other than the most important
one which is 1 in 3 women will die of heart
disease. Heidi’s goal is to share her own
personal story to create awareness that heart
disease is the number one killer in women and
the warning signs are not the stereotypical
symptoms that you may think they are. She was
not educated in the warning signs and she
witnessed her aunt having a heart attack and
didn’t know it. She lives with that every day.
If Heidi didn’t know what was happening, then
there are other people that don’t have the
information either.
In addition to
creating general awareness about the signs and
symptoms, Heidi would like to tackle the tough
question of why women are under diagnosed in the
medical world, as well as open the door to the
families/friends of people that live with heart
disease. Everyone suffers from this disease.
It’s not just THE person with heart disease.
Their friends and families suffer more with the
emotional side of the disease and they deserve
support too.
It is Heidi’s goal
to change the shift in thinking from being
reactive to proactive! Being heart healthy,
should be a lifestyle….and NOT a doctor’s order!
It’s my time to
speak up and save lives!
